Koinonia is a real community located in Second Life. At Koinonia we
are not burdened with the same facilities responsibilities as
congregations in the brick and mortar world. Building God’s house is no
longer a matter of costly construction projects, but caring for the
material and spiritual needs of the people in whom God now lives.
Today, God’s designated dwelling on earth has changed: God no longer
resides in a temple, separated from his people. But due to Jesus
Christ’s work on the cross, the Holy Spirit has made each and every
human his temple; together we are “like living stones ... being built
into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual
sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 2:5). So
Christian church buildings are simply places set aside for corporate
service and worship, not temples inhabited by God.
We understand that stewardship is about making choices, as individuals
and in community. It is more than giving money to the church.
Stewardship is about being faithful disciples, caring for and managing
all that God has given us by offering our time, our talent and our
treasure. Stewardship is not just one part of Christian discipleship;
it involves every aspect of life in all the stages of life.
We are in the process of filing our incopration and 501c3 documents and as soon as that is complete we will be able to send you tax deductible statements.
